The GlobalFlyer has returned back home to Salina, Kansas. The repairs were made to the aircraft, it was test flown, and then Jon Karkow flew the GlobalFlyer back across the pond.
Will the GlobalFlyer fly again? Or will it be relegated to a museum? The GlobalFlyer homepage ponders that question and leaves us hanging!

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association is reporting that 2005 was a record year for General Aviation aircraft. Billings were up 27% over 2004 and total planes shipped were up 21%.

The GlobalFlyer is on the ground and Steve is safe. However during the descent he had a generator problem and had to declare Mayday. He diverted to Bournemouth and considered ditching at one point. More info to follow!
Update: News is reporting Steve had a “very hard landing” and at least two tires burst.
