Avidyne PFD Simulator
Laminar Research, the authors of X-Plane, have developed a new simulator for the Avidyne PFD called AvioApp. AvioApp is a separate program which can connect to X-Plane over a LAN and simulates the Avidyne PFD.
Future versions will reportedly also simulate the Avidyne MFD as well as the Garmin 1000. You can download a demo from the info page and order a copy for $500.

Avioapp looks lovely. I would love tohave it but I need to see a demo doing some action first. Spending $500 based on a single static screenshot is a little too much of a stretch for me.

Some of us in the Flightsim community are not all made of money. I don’t care how good this product is $500 is way over the top. I cannot see too many people forking out that kind of cash. Take a zero off the end and make it $50 and you may get a few interested parties. You can set yourself up with a copy of X-Plane or FS2004 or FSX also a control yolk, joystick and rudder pedals for less money than that.

That product really isn’t made for flight sim people. I think it is more designed for people who have the real Avidyne product in their plane. Since those products start at $10,000 and most people that have them have probably invested significantly more money than that having a computer based training program for $500 is probably a steal. X-Plane and the related hardware do not replicate the full Avidyne product.
