Diamond D-Jet Tests
Diamond has completed their first test flight of the Diamond D-Jet and have continued with more tests following the successful first flight. The first flight was Tuesday and lasted just over one hour.
During that time the Diamond D-Jet climbed to 12,000 feet and performed several engine and systems operational tests.
“We are absolutely delighted with this flight”, said Christian Dries, CEO of Diamond Aircraft, who flew the chase aircraft.“The test flight went exactly as planned. What more could you ask for? Our crew did a fabulous job and we are very grateful for the support received from Williams, Garmin, Parker, Argotech and our other partners.”
You can watch a video of the first flight.
Flight testing continued, and Christian Dries, CEO, was able to fly the jet himself.
“I was particularly impressed by the feeling of space, security and solidity. The simplicity of operation, from engine start through take-off, flight and landing was very obvious and reflects my vision of what a personal jet should be. The Williams engine performed flawlessly and in combination with the high L/D wing design, produces higher take off performance than the thrust to weight ratio might suggest. My familiarity with the Garmin G1000 in the DA40 Diamond Star and DA42 Twin Star made the transition to the D-JET avionics suite very natural,” said Dries.“

The aircarft is wonderful. i loved the room in the airplane and the avionics. The thing i am questioning is how much does the plane cost? I think is about 800,000 10 900,000. thats what i think.
