Red Bull Air Race Barcelona
The Red Bull Air Race series continued in Barcelona yesterday. In the second event of the series, Peter Besenyei of Hungary won the race finishing ahead of Americans Mike Mangold in second place and Kirby Chambliss in third place. The overall standings now have those same thee pilots tied with ten points each.
In the first race of the season Besenyei experienced plane troubles and had to use an alternate, heavier plane for the competition. However he was in a new Edge 540 for this race in Barcelona.
“It’s so much faster than the previous one and really gave me the edge! But more than anything it was a great feeling to beat Mike Mangold by six seconds”.
The next stop is Berlin, Germany on May 27.
