More about E170 from Wilco

Ahhh, now that more and more time has passed since I first got my copy of this Wilco’s E-Jet series, I am already sold to this product. No matter how hard I am looking at some potential “bugs”, and even if there is some, for me this is state of the art product.
I had some […]

Wilco E-Jets first impressions

I have been testing new Wilco product Embraer 170 and 190 for FlightSimulator 2004 and I must say it is a wonderful product. Many many addons that I have have failed in my eyes very much, but finally I can say that I have found a plane I like.
It is a product that is easy […]

TweakFS behind the scenes!

Many of us flightsimmers knows TweakFS and FSWidgets as very reliable and stable products. This company is a bit odd in the market because they don’t produce any addon sceneries or planes like almost all others are doing.

But what they do is, more important products like TweakFPS. What do you do with the latest and nicest addon aircraft or scenery if your computer can’t run it propely. There comes TweakFPS to help you out.

Another great product I’ve been using a long time is EFB Electronic Flight Bag. This program brings charts straight to your cockpit without slowering down your simulator. If you are using two monitor system or even the single one, this is the one I’ve waited for a long time.

But who is this man behind these addons we are talking about. His name is Fermin Fernandez from Australia and I manage to catch him for a little interview between coding and flying.

Mr. Fernandez, tell us little about yourself.

I’m a 40 year old from northern Spain who has called Australia (Melbourne) home for all but the first 2 of those years. I’m married and have three furry children (cats) who from time to time “contribute to the code” by sleeping on or prancing across my keyboard. I have a Private Pilots License (fly mainly Cessna/Piper Cherokee) but rising costs and post 9/11 regulatory madness has limited my flying time lately. On the low-tech side of things I’ve been an avid road cyclist for over 20 years and “break away” from my computer to do about 200-250 KM a week. I also really enjoy cooking (and eating!) and because I work from a home office I often find myself having to whip up dinner for my wife who works outside the home.

Electronic Flight Bag for FSX

EFBFSX (Electronic Flight Bag for FSX) is a software-based display system intended primarily for the simulated cockpit or flight deck. It virtually does away with the need for paper charts and other physical copies of documents such as aircraft operating manuals, performance data, approach charts and checklists.
In real world aviation EFB devices usually consist of […]

Pilot’s View from an RC Plane

So what do you get when you cross some nerdy equipment, a video camera, an RC aircraft, and the dream to fly? this video from France. As the person on the ground turns their head, the camera turns to “see” what is happening from the perspective of the RC aircraft.
